Lickilicky the Ice Cream

Noa was watching cartoons on a Saturday morning as I walked in and caught a glimpse of this Pokemon character sticking out his tongue as long as his body. “Who is that guy?”, I asked. Noa quickly told me that it was Lickilicky (pronounced licky-licky). I should have known. Lickilicky uses his tongue as a weapon against the enemy. I think one lick is all it takes to demolish whatever is in his way. He was interesting.
Anyway…Noa couldn’t stop talking about Lickilicky the rest of the day and wanted to show him to me at the store. I guess he saw this character’s toy at ToysRUs. I told him that I liked Lickilicky, but I didn’t need to see him today.
Well, later that day we went to McDonald’s to get some fudge dipped ice cream cones.
Watching people eat ice cream cones is pretty funny and gross. It is kind of disgusting to be sticking out your tongue so much. It takes at least a hundred licks to finish a normal cone. That’s a lot of tongue. We’re like a bunch of dogs lapping up water. But this is acceptable for humans when it comes to ice cream. Maybe it’s because everyone else is doing it. Or maybe it’s because we are working so hard at keeping the ice cream under control so it doesn’t drip all over our hands that we don’t actually observe everyone’s tongue display.
Well…Noa, Levi, and I were making quite a mess of our fudge dipped cones when Noa pauses for a second, looks me in the eyes with a light bulb look and says…
Hey! Maybe we should just Lickilicky our cones!
I laughed.
It was a great idea.

It was a really great idea!
